Mull Car Club has been awarded third place in the top 2006 British motor sport awards. It`s the first time that Mull Car Club has won and award in the prestigious Alexander Forbes MSA Club of the Year award; representatives will receive the trophy and a cheque at the MSA`s annual ‘Night of Champions` awards ceremony at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, London in January. They will share the stage with the winners of every major championship in British motor sport from 2006. Third place was awarded to the Mull Car Club, which successfully staged its first forest event this year and has worked closely with its local primary schools on the island to promote motor sport to a new generation. First place went to Cumbria Kart Racing Club. The remarkable achievements of the Cumbria Kart Racing Club are further emphasised by the accomplishments of all those short-listed for this year`s top accolade. Providing stiff competition, the Manx Motor Sport Marshals Association was awarded second place for its support of Volunteers in Motorsport as well as its initiative to provide members with good quality rucksacks packed with all the equipment required for marshalling.
