Ifan Devine has increased his lead in the Junior BRC co-drivers standings after a brilliant performance on last weekend’s Voly Grampian Forest Rally.
Our John Easson Award winner guided driver Luke Constantine to victory in the JBRC class and the Stellantis UK Cup. The pair also finished second overall in the BRC4 and FWD classes in their Opel Corsa Rally4.
“We knew we had a massive job on our hands for this event, the third round of the British Championship, and we were up against the JBRC leader Ben McFall, who is unbeaten so far this season,” said Ifan.
“But everything fell into place starting with a perfect recce, which saw us get the pacenotes exactly as we wanted them, and that gave us the confidence we needed out on the stages.”
For Constantine, the result marked his first-ever BRC win, which has closed the gap to McFall in the JBRC drivers class.
He said: “I still can’t believe it. Ifan and I have worked so hard for this moment, and it’s going to feel very special for a long time.”
And Ifan was full of praise for his partner, who produced his finest drive of the year under intense pressure,
He said: “His level of commitment was unreal, and it was simply perfect all weekend. The amount of trust he put into me reading the notes was a privilege to witness. It feels like we’ve made a dream come true together.”
