The battle for the title of Junior British Rally Champion comes to a head this weekend on the gravel tracks of North Wales.
Our John Easson Award winner Ifan Devine is in pole position for the co-drivers crown, with a 26-point advantage over second-placed Damian McAuley, while his driver Luke Constantine is just three points adrift of leader Ben McFall.
But the pair will be putting all thoughts of championships to one side when the lights go green on the final round, the Lewis and Hunter Cambrian Rally.
“We have to just focus on getting the best possible result on Saturday, nothing else” explained Ifan.
“We are seeded at car 23, seven ahead of Ben, but I don’t know if that will help us or not. Our Opel Corsa Rally4 is performing really well, but the four-wheel-drive boys are ahead of us, so we’re expecting the stages to be cut up by the time we get there.
“All we can do is concentrate on the job in hand, I have to make sure my notes are as accurate as possible and we get a good clean run.
“Rest assured we will be giving it everything, this is my home event and it’s the culmination of everything we’ve been striving for this season.”
*The 2300 Club will be supporting the rally with a team of marshals in SS5 and 8 Hiraethog, led by chairman Neil Molyneux.
Look out for the distinctive yellow 2300 Club banner!
