The Andy Mort Tour always attracts an array of beautiful cars, both modern and classic, and this year was no different.
But for the judges of the FAB award, named in memory of the late Fred Arthur Blundell, there was one stand-out candidate.
Sean Holly’s gorgeous 1969 Jensen Interceptor Mk1 turned everyone’s head as it wafted into the car park at West Bradford village hall.
First time out on the AMT, the car attracted admirers along on the entire route, with Sean at the wheel and wife Sarah and Boo alongside.
It took Sean five years to get the car of his dreams, as he explained:
“I first saw it for sale in a showroom five years ago. I’d always wanted one, and it looked perfect.
“But I think the owner didn’t really want to sell it, I went back every year to ask him, and finally, last year, he relented.
“Finished in aquamarine blue with a caramel interior it was the perfect combination. Although they have a reputation for being troublesome, I’ve haven’t had to do anything to it.
“For me, the car is the perfect combination of American engineering, with a Chrysler 6.3 litre engine, Italian Vignale styling and British manufacturing and heritage.
“It attracts admirers wherever we go. We pitched up at a classic car event at Angouleme in France, and won Best Car. But winning the FAB award means much more.”
Sean and Sarah were presented with the coveted glass award by club chairman Neil Molyneux at the end of the AMT, they also received a car care kit kindly donated by Lee Egan, of LE Detailing and Feed the Beast, of Accrington.
