Rob Cotton wins the 2024 John Easson Award

The 2300 Club are very pleased to announce Rob Cotton as the winner of the 2024 John Easson Award.

Some of our finalists had travelled further than others for the final in Lancashire.
Meghan O’Kane travelled from the Kyle of Lochalsh in Scotland, James Lepley from Nottinghamshire and local lad Rob Cotton from Preston Lancashire.

All three finalists went through the relaxed interview process where they impressed our judges with their ambition and determination to succeed in rallying.
Our panel of judges comprised of Ian Grindrod, Clive Molyneux, Richard Winstanley and James Ford.

“It was very difficult this year to pick a winner from three excellent candidates who all deserved to win” said  JEA scheme manager John Cope.
There can only be one winner and Rob Cotton emerged as the recipient of the 2024 John Easson Award at the end of the evening. The Award has a total prize fund of £6000 and will help fund Rob Cottons 2025 season.

We would like to wish the two runners-up the very best of luck with their continued rallying. Meghan and James both will receive £750 of funding in their 2025 season courtesy of Bury Auto Club.

We would also like to thank everyone who took the time and trouble to enter this year’s award. We would like to encourage you not to give up, and if criteria is met next year please re-apply as many of our previous winners have only won after numerous attempts.
