A family fun day for Emily Easton-Page

The Page family will be out in force on this weekend’s Voyonic Grampian Forest Rally, cheering on our John Easson Award winner.

It’s home territory for Emily Easton-Page, who will be sitting alongside Belfast driver Kyle White in his Hyundai i20R5.

“Because it’s my local event, all the family will be out cheering me on,” explained Emily.

“At the last count there’ll be my Mum and Dad, who go to most events, my sister, Grandma, and then there’s aunties and cousins. They all have a great day out.

“Last year, my mum Clare ferried everyone around in her soft-top car with the hood down. It was brilliant, it seemed like every road section they were there all waving away at me.”

Emily will be keeping her fingers crossed there’s no repeat of last year, when she rolled out of the rally while leading with Michael Binnie at the wheel.

“That was a hard one to take. But I love the Grampian, it’s deceptively technical and so, so fast,” she said.

This year’s rally has moved to a two-day format, with a ceremonial start in the centre of Banchory on Friday afternoon.

As a round of both the British and Scottish Rally Championships, it features 57 miles spread over nine special stages, with just 16 miles of forestry tracks used for a second time.
