Year on year the Tour of Mull gains in popularity with spectators, something as organisers we actively encourage, it does however bring with it issues that we are finding difficult to control and need the help of all the people who spectate to help us resolve.
On the 1st April (should have been a clue there!) we published the following on our website – it was of course a spoof! Lots of people spotted straight away that it was an"April Fool Joke", but many people (including some of the committee) were taken in by it! (you know who you are, so be embarrased). If you cancelled your accomodation and rebooked for November and will now loose your deposit – BAD LUCK! Actually, just go back and tell them "it was all just an April fool joke & surely they couldn't be so foolish to have been taken in by it?"….
STOP PRESS: 2009 Tour of Mull is now taking place on the 27/28/29th November. In celebration of the 40th Tour of Mull, the 2300 Club Committee have decided to put on a real spectacular in terms of the Rally Route. This is going to start with a special stage from Salen past Aros Bridge and up to the cattle grid, where the new road to Tobermory starts. On Saturday afternoon, we are now running the special stage in Tobermory, with a twist – two way traffic!
This table shows the position of each car after each stage. In this case, Car 2 was leading for most of the rally, but Car 1 took the lead for the 18th Stage.
