Lloyd a class act at Rali Ceredigion

Two thirds and a 13th overall was the reward for Ioan Lloyd after a superb drive on the Rali Ceredigion.
The young John Easson Award winner thoroughly enjoyed his outing on the roads around Aberystwyth – and it showed.
“What a cracking event the Rali Ceredigion is,” said a delighted Ioan at the finish.
“We were absolutely delighted with our result after such a tough event. The stages themselves are phenomenal, but challenging in the extreme.
“The opening stages around Aberystwyth promenade and then in the lanes at night were always going to be tricky, but we got through them ok. Sunday made up the bulk of the rally and the roads were brilliant, making the right choice of tyre for the afternoon loop really got us into a good rhythm.”
And so it proved, with Lloyd and co-driver notching up the fastest fwd time on Bont Goch 2 in their Peugeot 208 Rally 4, and the pair reckoned the 17-mile long Lanfihangel test was “absolute class, the best stage we’ve ever had the privilege of driving on.”
“Finishing just outside the top ten, third in the two-wheel-drive class and third in the Junior BRC category capped a great weekend for us.”
